Happiness after all: Earlier this year, thanks to Zach Laks, Robert Driemeyer and I were happy to be join several treasured colleagues on the producing team of the off-Broadway run of Drew Droege's hilarious Happy Birthday Doug at SoHo Playhouse.
We opened to some deliciously quotable reviews, and were building momentum to settle in for a good long run (like Drew's Bright Colors And Bold Patterns a few years back) when BOOM! the pandemic forced theatres to close.
Happily, since then, the show has been captured for BroadwayHD, which means it can actually reach a larger audience than ever, and most especially that all my dear friends far and wide can see it and enjoy it.
The show is a hoot and a half; it also has a heartwarming takeaway or two...so make sure to add it to the watchlist. It'll be up on their platform 9/24, so expect a reminder or two to tune in between now and then. Get ready!!!
